2 European Studies can be considered a coherent ’interdisciplinary area’ based on fundamental questions about the conceptual, cultural, socio-political and economic entity ’Europe’… (P. Morgan, 1999).

3 EU/European Studies Originated some 60 years ago in Europe European Studies are unique They are of highly interdisciplinary/ multidisciplinary character Mostly offered as special disciplines at Bachelor level, Growing number of Master Programs, DD programs PhD studies are often based in European Institutes or Centers of European Studies within universities or Business Schools

Since late1990s the disciplines were initiated by HEIs, could be established within the international partnership or as an outcome of the joint projects. Academic offer as minors at related specialties at Bachelor level: (law, economics, history, public administration, international relations, business, political sciences, sociology, etc.) Specialization at related specialties at MA programs Kyiv National University named after Shevchenko Master program “International Economic Relations” specialization “Economics of European Integration” DSUM. Formation of European mentality among pupils, students, civil society groups. It is a "soft power" of gradual political transformation of the country towards the EU, Targeted training specialists capable to maintain fruitful relations with the EU in various fields This is effective tool in protecting positive image of the EU in times of transformations Platform to have an objective, and comprehensive understanding of the EU’s strengths and weaknesses

10 Jean Monnet projects in the world
Between 1989 and 2016 more than 1000 universities in 86 countries throughout the world participated in the Jean Monnet actions, offering Jean Monnet courses as part of their curricula. To rethink –what “Teaching activities” are (networking with colleagues, participating in the conferences/seminars of JM community) To achieve the goals of the projects stated in the application form To ease bureaucratic, time-consuming, administrative procedures to implement projects in universities To Involve of students on projects and extra-curricular activities To improve Internal and external dissemination of results
