All students must ride the shuttle bus to off campus practices unless they have a permit to drive to practice form in the Athletic Office. Students are not allowed to transport other students to practice. The school will provide an activity bus for transportation after practices. Athletes must sign up for the bus by the end of their lunch hour. If they sign up they need to ride the bus. We must have at least 15 students to run the bus. Minimum Attendance – School Discipline - If a student is suspended from school they are ineligible to practice or compete in contests during the suspension period. A student cannot miss an after school or Saturday detention to participate in a practice or contest.

Pg. 4 Want to Create a positive image and experience at all sporting events We want to be boosters of good play, not fans. Sportsmansip sets middle and high school sports apart from all other levels of competition. Learning values like turstworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship is the ultimate goal of educational athletics, not wins, losses and championships. Fans - Make Demands Boosters - Supporters Everyone involved ins sports should know and understand their role. All Athletes and Parents, please fill out the card attached….List your 3 reasons for playing or wanting your son/daughter to participate in sports.

Enforce the rules and Control Play Can stop play for: Unsportsmanlike behavior - players/fans Can eject - players/fans Wish for Officials leaving WHS There will be controversy in every sport in almost every play. I want officials to look forward to working WHS athletic events because of our hard play and good sportsmanship. Your role as a parent, spectator and player is to respect at all times the decisions of officials.

They will also work hard to help your child develop as a person and to acquire characteristics that will help them be successful after high school.

Self Assessment for parents expectations Compare to your child’s expectations The Role of Parents in Athletics During the game After the game It’s easy if we remember our role…the players play, the coaches coach, the officials officiate, the spectators enjoy the game. Everyone participates with good sportsmanship. When a contest is over I want our opponent and the officials to commend us for our conduct on and off the court, mat or field before, during and after the competition.
