The NBA’s new television rights deal (tied with the agreed upon revenue split between the players’ union and owners in the collective bargaining agreement) begins in the upcoming season and the extra revenue lifted the salary cap from $72 million to $94 million for every team. In the National Basketball Association foreign NBA players are also known as international players—are those who were born outside of the United States. Players who were born in U.S. overseas territories, such as Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam, are considered international players even if they are U.S. citizens. In some borderline cases, the NBA takes into consideration whether a player desires to be identified as international. From European countries, Serbia has produced 25 players. Brazil is the leading South American contributor with a total of 17 players. Nigeria has produced the most NBA players of any African nation with 14 players, while Australia has produced a total of 18 players. NBA Players come into the league most oftenly at a very young age and stay in the league for most of, if not all of their careers. The NBA offers very high salaries, as well as high quality of basketball facilities, trainings, and coaching, which players cannot find in almost anywhere else in the world. Graph Index

11 Salary Cap Boost There's going to be a massive, one-time increase in the NBA's salary cap when the league's new television deal kicks in before the season, Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports.
