Junction 41 is Outwood’s own swing band. This is open to students of grade 3 or above. We regularly perform in concerts in the local community, and at other venues nationally. Every two years we embark on an International concert tour.

‘In Theory’ focuses on working towards grade 5 Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music theory examination. Students work at their own pace through the preliminary grades and then take the grade 5 examination which the Academy funds.

The Sopraltos is a girls’ vocal group open to years 7 and 8. We cover a range of styles including pop, folk, jazz and musicals. Singing in one or two part harmonies, we aim to perform in concerts and festivals throughout the year. All singers welcome!

Backstage Crew offers you the chance to learn and master the technical skills needed to put on a concert. This ranges from stage management, front of house sound engineering, programming lighting and visuals. You will also get an opportunity to practice recording instruments in the recording studio.
