1. Movaz Upgrades
Replace serial filters with parallel filters on BLDR-DEN span
Upgrade BLDR-LONG-FORT spans to dense WDM from coarse WDM
Install new DWDM ring at FRGP

2. Filter Upgrade
Serial filters have low loss per lambda, but adds up with each additional lambda.
Parallel filter has higher loss, but you only need one
Break-even point is at about 3 or 4 lambda's which is where we are today.

3. Coarse to Dense Upgrade
BLDR-LONG-FORT currently has cheaper CWDM optics installed
No amplification
Can't handle 10GigE
Upgrade brings this span closer to 10GigE ready

4. FRGP Ring
FRGP DREAM ring connects 1200 Larimer, Pearl and th.
Currently an etherchannel of two 1G Ethernets around each side of the ring
Upgrade would use optical protection to split each Ethernet around both sides of the ring
Fiber cuts would be (almost) invisible
