Magnetism is a force created by magnetic fields that exists between opposite end of a magnetic (north and south). The motion of electric charge, result in attractive and repulsive forces between objects.

5. Revolution – the earth’s movement around the sun
Revolution – the earth’s movement around the sun. (elliptical orbit – oval shaped). One revolution is ? days

6. Perihelion – when the earth is closest to the sun. (January)
Aphelion – when the earth is farthest from the sun (July)

7. Rotation – a complete spin on the earth’s own axis.
The axis is tilted 23.5 degrees from the perpendicular which causes the different seasons during a revolution.

9. Time zones – 24 regions where noon is set as the time when the sun is highest over the center of the zone.

10. International date line – an imaginary line separating one day from the other due to the time zones.

11. Daylight saving time– when clocks are set one hour ahead during the spring and summer months for an additional hour of daylight.
Why do we do this?

12. Precession – The wobbling effect from the gravitational pull of the moon and sun on the earth causing it to move in a circular motion on it’s axis as it turns in space (26 thousand year)
