Objective The objective of PERMIT is to analyze the mix type performance based on existing and historical data to present reliable service life estimation for different mix types. The tool can be accessible to all transportation agencies. The software is called Performance Life of HMA Mixes in Texas (PERMIT) and its features include: Access to road construction, reconstruction, and maintenance data; Derived statistical data with computed analysis; Easily and securely accessible through an internet browser, and Visual representation of data acquisition through Google maps. Include construction quality and type of construction (new vs. overlay) as stated in the proposal?

Permit Navigation The query builder’s function consists of user-selected: mixture category, mix type, district/statewide or climatic region. Furthermore the selection can be filtered by: traffic category, facility type, pavement type, and truck percentage of annual average daily traffic (AADT).

Conclusion These types of pavements are used to study the performance life of asphalt mixes or hot mix asphalt (HMA) mixes. Performance life of an HMA mix is currently recommended based on experience and very limited data. A combination of independent and mutually exclusive databases were managed: through algorithms, and; presented using a GUI that displays the results of the mix performance. The software created is called PERMIT it merges databases such as: Letting Database; DCIS, and; PMIS. This online program can be continuously upgraded as annual data is collected. The PERMIT database system has three essential components: the Query Builder; Graphics Engine, and; Statistic Generator. PERMIT provides a variety of filters, which allow users to reach a more concrete decision. This tool has the potential, in the future, to be utilized nationwide transportation departments.
