2 About The Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race:
The first Oxford Cambridge boat race took place in 1829 and it soon became an annual event between students from these two universities. It takes place on the River Thames in London and attracts a massive crowd of around 250,000

3 About The Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race:
The Start: from Putney Bridge up to Fulham Football Club. Round the Bend: follows the middle of the course, between Hammersmith Bridge and Chiswisk Reach. The Finish: follows the remainder of the Course between Barnes Railway Bridge and Chiswick Bridge.

4 About The London Marathon
The London Marathon  is a long-distance running event. The event was first run on 29 March 1981 and has been held in the spring of every year since. 

5 About The London Marathon
The 32nd London Marathon took place on 22 April 2012, and the 33rd is planned for 21 April 2013

6 About ascot race Ascot Race course was founded by Queen Anne in 1711 and since that time, a further eleven monarchs have leant their patronage to the Royal race course. The Royal Meeting, held annually in the third week in June, is steeped in tradition and pageantry and is interwoven into the very fabric of British culture.

7 About Wimbledon The Championships, Wimbledon, "The Wimbledon Championships" or simply Wimbledon, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world, and widely considered to be the biggest and the most prestigious. It has been held at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London since 1877.

8 About Wimbledon It is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, the other three majors being the Australian Open, French Open and US Open. Wimbledon is the only Major still played on grass, the game's original surface, which gave the game its original name of "lawn tennis".

9 XXX Summer Olympic Games
Opening ceremony Main articles: 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony and 2012 Summer Olympics Parade of Nations The opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics was held on 27 July and called "Isles of Wonder". Oscar- winning director Danny Boyle was its artistic director, with the music directors being the electronic music duo Rick Smith and Karl Hyde of Underworld. The Games were officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. It was the second Games the Queen had opened personally, the first being the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. All successive Olympics held in Canada or Australia have been opened by their respective governors-general. A short comic film starring Daniel Craig as secret agent James Bond and the Queen as herself was screened during the ceremony.

Closing ceremony Main articles: 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony and 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony flag bearers The closing ceremony of the London Summer Olympics was held on 12 August In addition to protocol, the ceremony featured a flashback fiesta to British music with The Who finishing out the performance. The ceremony also included a handover of the Olympic flag by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, to Eduardo Paes, Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, the host city of the 2016 Summer Olympics
