AQUACOSM funding is available to scientists world-wide to undertake short visits to state-of-the-art aquatic mesocosm facilities and to utilize the infrastructure all over Europe at one of the partner institutions for the purposes of their research.
WHAT IS AQUACOSM
AQUACOSM is a “Network of Leading European AQUAtic MesoCOSM Facilities Connecting Mountains to Oceans from the Arctic to the Mediterranean” that will:
WHAT WE OFFER
11, 500 transnational access (TA) days for 340 users
19 mesocosm facility systems at 36 sites
Large geographic range from Arctic to Mediterranean
Unique insfrastructures in ponds lakes, rivers estuaries, coastal and open ocean
Provide the first inter-national integration of scattered know-how between freshwater and marine experimental research infrastructures to provide unified state-of-the-art mesocosm based science
Promote ground-breaking developments in mesocosm technology, instrumentation and data processing
Train next-generation and experienced scientists conducting research on mesocosm infrastructures
Conduct coordinated international experiments at several facilities across gradients from freshwater to estuarine and marine sites, as well as along climate gradients from mountains to ocean, from the Mediterranean to the Arctic.
