2 Agenda Viewer Overview Viewer Features - Demo
What is Viewer ? Benefits Limits/Requirements Technical Concepts Viewer Features - Demo For the Future – Where do we go Next?

3 Viewer Overview – What Is Viewer?
A Web-deployed application that links CAD Drawing data with the PROPworks Space and Agreement Modules Designed for the Business User to provide graphic search, display, and print of Space and Agreement/Leasehold data Technology Used: PROPworks Application Server for Security and Data Access ESRI-ArcGIS Engine Runtime for CAD drawing load and analysis Acrobat Reader for Exhibit Creation and Annotation Current Release is Viewer 8.0.1 Releases now aligned with PROPworks

4 Viewer Overview – Benefits
PROPworks with Viewer Allows the Business User To: Query PROPworks Space-related information and graphically display results as floor-plan overlays. Establish links between physical space (e.g. a room) and logical space (a leasehold”), accommodating one-to-many scenarios. Create Floor Plan-based Exhibits and Thematic Maps combining CAD, Space and Agreement data. Create PROPworks space inventory and maintain synchronization with Master CAD drawings.

5 Viewer Overview – Limits/Requirements
Viewer does NOT: Substitute for a Geographic Information System (GIS) Communicate with GIS Systems Modify CAD Drawings Requirements: Access to PROPworks AppServer ESRI-ArcGIS Engine Runtime installed on Viewer machine ESRI License Authorization to run Viewer (on machine or pooled) 32-Bit Java Runtime (JRE) Facility CAD Drawings enhancements by CAD Operator Polygon Layer representing PROPworks Spaces (Lease Lines) of interest Annotation Layer with Space Identifiers for use in PROPworks Possible adjustments to reference plane and scale

6 Viewer Overview – Technical Concepts
Drawing Configuration in Viewer CAD File linked to an existing Parent Location in PW Space Inventory CAD annotations and associated Polygons define Child Spaces CAD Polygon Layer specified as Viewer Spaces Layer CAD Annotation Layer specified as ViewerText Layer Other CAD layers can be specified as Viewer Reference Layers PROPworks Space Data (Identifier and Area) synchronized with CADD Data using PROPworks Space Interface. CAD Loading process creates ESRI Map Object used by Viewer Spatial analysis tools used to analyze converted CAD data.

10 Viewer Features – Demo Open Configured Drawing File Executing Queries
Map View and Map Overview Spaces Table - Data from PROPworks Contents Panel -- Layers and Properties Navigation Overview Executing Queries Quick Search Advanced Query Thematic Query Search Layer Properties Delta wants to Lease Office Space? Generate Exhibits Print Preview Lease Exhibits – Graphic and Tabular Load an Updated Drawing File and Synch up PROPworks Load and Configure a New Drawing and Export to PROPworks

11 Viewer Features – Open a CAD Drawing File
Open a New/Updated Drawing File from the Admin Menu OR Open a Previously Configured File from the Configured Drawings Tool

12 Viewer Features – Configure a New CAD Drawing File
Configure/View Drawing Properties General Info and Layers Tabs

13 Viewer Features – View PROPworks Space Information
Use Information Tool or Double Click Space record in table View

14 Viewer Features – Modify Layer Properties
In the Viewer Contents Tab -- Select the desired Layer Node and Right Click to access the Layer Properties Dialog. CAD Annotation Layer – Labels Tab PROPworks Spaces Layer – Appearance Tab

15 Viewer Features – Modify Layer Properties

16 Viewer Features – Searching PROPworks Space Data
Use Quick Search Tab or Advanced Search Dialog The Advanced Search allows query against Space attributes and provides extra operators for number and date values. Items with Italic Labels have LOVs LOVs values are limited towhat is is in currently open drawing containing values available in current

17 Viewer Features – Displaying Search Results
Queries executed in the current session are listed. Results can be toggled on/off and on, with results reflected in the graphic.

18 Evolving Viewer Features – Lease Exhibit Process
Initiate Lease Exhibit Process using the “Lease Exhibit Query” tool Select the Agreement for the Exhibit Agreement LOV is limited to agreements in the current drawing Show Labels? No – Only the Spaces for this agreements are labeled and listed in Space Table (default) Yes – All Spaces are labeled and appear in Spaces Table Press the Search button Once the process is initiated, the Lease Exhibit Report tool in the Tools Menu will be enabled. NOTE: Executing any other query will terminate the process. Modifications to drawing appearance and labels can be accomplished during the process.

19 Evolving Viewer Features – Lease Exhibit Process
All other search result layers are deactivated. Activation will terminate process. Only selected spaces have labels and are in Space Table List.

20 Evolving Viewer Features – Lease Exhibit Process
Select “Lease Exhibit Report” from the Tools Menu to configure report info. Select Template: Portrait/Landscape Drawing Portrait/Landscape Data Table – creates PDF of Space Data Table Other parameters may have default values preset, but they are all editable. Report Configuration values are retained after viewing the Exhibit. Press the View Exhibit button.

21 Evolving Viewer Features – Lease Exhibit Process
A preview of the Exhibit is displayed with options: Print Now – default printer Generate PDF – can be further annotated in Acrobat Reader if desired and saved to file system Refresh – repaints preview Close – returns to Report Configuration Dialog

22 Evolving Viewer Features – Thematic Queries
Themes for Viewer are predefined properties that describe PROPworks Space data including: Tenant Agreement Agreement Expire Date Agreement Class Agreement Type Company Type Leasehold Use Leasehold Type Leasehold Expire Date Leasehold Cost Center Numeric Space Attributes - Area Space Attributes with defined values - picklists Theme values depend on PROPworks and PW Space configuration. The ”Configure Themes” item on the Admin Menu allows an Administrator to initialize and modify the default color-coding and inclusion of theme values. The default settings cannot be modified by Viewer Users without access to the Admin Menu. Once configured, Viewer users can temporarily modify and execute thematic queries against the PROPworks data using the Thematic Search tool in the Tools menu.

23 Evolving Viewer Features – Thematic Queries
To Execute a Thematic Search: Select “Thematic Query” from the Viewer Tools menu. Select the desired Theme. Note that Theme Values are limited to those existing in the current Drawing. Prior to executing the Thematic Search: The User can modify the color for individual values by double-clicking on the color cell and selecting a different color. The Used can “Exclude” individual values from being represented by unchecking the “Include?” Checkbox. User modifications are not retained after execution of the query.

24 Evolving Viewer Features – Thematic Queries
Legend information (value-color mapping) can be viewed in the Thematic Search Layer Properties Dialog. Right Click on Search Layer on Contents Tab.

25 For the Future – Where should we Go From Here?

26 Viewer Future OVERALL PROCESSES
Lease Exhibit process currently limited to one agreement. Should we remove this as a separate process, and build into the overall query and printing process as a generic Exhibit? Merge processes together (Quick Search, Advanced Search, Thematic maps) Intelligent Layer Names – Automatically name layers based on Search Criteria. Ability to save Map State to quickly re-generate the Search later on. Layers, Search Parameters, Zoom Factor, Exhibit Parameters, Thematic Map settings.

27 Viewer Future THEMATIC MAPS
Allow filters to be used with Thematic maps. PRINTING Consolidate Print Options so they are all accessed from the same place. Allow Legends to be optionally included in Exhibit Output. Make the Exhibit parameter form available for any process. Exhibit template – Allow customer to create own templates that use Viewer placeholders(Exhibit Variables). Display North Arrow and Scale.
