2. Purpose
The Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Servicemembers (UCX) program provides benefits for eligible ex-military personnel.
The program is administered by the States as agents of the Federal government.
If you were on active duty you may be entitled to benefits based on that service. Must have DD-214.
You must have been separated under honorable conditions.

3. Background
Employers pay an unemployment payroll tax for their employees.
The federal government actually reimburses these payments after the fact.
These benefits are intended to be a form of income maintenance between jobs.

4. Benefits The state under which the claim is filed determines:
- benefit amounts
- number of weeks benefits can be paid
- other eligibility conditions
Receiving retirement or separation pay may also influence your receipt of unemployment compensation.
