2 There are many symbols that represent the United States of America
There are many symbols that represent the United States of America. Some of the most popular ones are the Stars and Stripes (the US flag), the Great Seal of the USA, the bald eagle (national bird), the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the US Capitol, the White House, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty (a gift from France), the Gateway Arch (in St. Louis, Missouri), Mount Rushmore (carved on a mountain in South Dakota), the Yankee Doodle, the Golden Gate Bridge, the World War 2 Memorial, and many others. 

3 Liberty Bell The Liberty Bell is a huge bronze bell that symbolizes freedom in the United States of America. This historic bell is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The bell was originally cast in 1752 in London, England.

5 The Crack The bell first cracked during a test ringing. After cracking, the bell was recast twice in in Philadelphia by John Pass and John Stow . The bell cracked again on July 8, 1835.

6 Inscriptions on the Bell
Across the top of the bell is the inscription, "PROCLAIM LIBERTY THROUGHOUT ALL THE LAND UNTO ALL THE INHABITANTS THEREOF LEV. XXV X."

7 The Lincoln Memorial The Lincoln Memorial commemorates the life of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. It is located in Potomac Park, Washington, D.C.

8 Mt. Rushmore National Memorial
Mt. Rushmore National Memorial is a huge mountain sculpture of four US Presidents, located near Keystone, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The Presidents depicted are:George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. 

9 Statue of Liberty The Statue of Liberty is a huge sculpture that is located on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. This monument was a gift to the USA from the people of France in recognition of the French-American alliance during the American Revolution

10 Washington Monument The Washington Monument is an obelisk-shaped building in Washington, D.C. that was built to honor the first President of the United States of America, George Washington. This 555-foot- tall obelisk is the tallest building in the District of Columbia - by law, no other building in D.C. is allowed to be taller.

11 The White House The White House is the official residence of the President of the United States of America, and has been for over 200 years. It is located at Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., the capital city of the USA.

12 St. Louis Gateway Arch The St. Louis Gateway Arch is an elegant monument to westward expansion in the USA. 

13 US Capitol The US Capitol houses the legislative branch of the American government. The Senate occupies the building's north wing and the House of representatives is housed in the south wing.
