At the end of class you will rate yourself on the percentage of time you sent on: homework, studying, organizing your backpack, reading, etc. Please use your phone as a tool for assignments, but do not use it to take photos of yourself, get on social media etc. because then it turns into a distraction Use your time right now wisely

2 Bell Work 1) Make a list of all the things, people, places, etc. that you care about(have at least ten items on it) Review questions from last class(if you weren’t here try to guess) 2) How many hall passes do you get each term? 3) How much is the art fee and why do we have one? 4) There is no food in class, so if you need to eat, what can you do? 5) Any questions or concerns you have since last class?

Sleep, food, animals, family, friends, a feeling, happy, joyful, trees, clouds, sunshine, fresh air, etc.

Get out your sketchbook from last class Open it to a blank page Get ready for a mini lesson

13 Tape Out Contour Lines for Your Thing

14 Paint It Can add texture to the paint if you want….

15 Final Steps Pull the tape Let the paint fully dry
Add your contour line poem inside the negative space that you created with your contour lines/tape Those who want to can create fancy letters…we can go over lettering next class for those that would like to do calligraphy

16 Studio Time Start contouring out the piece from your poem in your booklet Complete your ode poem, get it signed off Your contour line drawing should be a visual representation of your ode poem You can use your phone as a reference, but if I see you texting or on social media I’ll have to take it or bag it, so please be the responsible students you are 5 – points per day for studio time for actively working on your project See the back pillar blue dots for sounds like and looks like examples

17 Next Class Transfer the contour line drawings to bigger paper with tape Paint over the tape Pull the tape Write your poem in the space the tape left white
