1 Outline of pilot for support for disabled staff
Five-month pilot to commence June 2015, to provide advice and support to staff, line managers and HR Provided by Action on Disability & Work UK (ADWUK) Referral through HR Advice team

2 Services to include Advice on disability related matters to staff, managers and HR to enable appropriate support to be provided to disabled members of staff Reasonable adjustments – provision of advice and guidance on adjustments and support packages that could be put in place, including consideration of any recommendations made by Occupational Health Access to Work - support staff through claims process, review use of support and ensure that being managed effectively Mental health – assist in developing support plans Assist with sourcing some support e.g. support workers, specialist equipment Provision of one to one training to staff to enable effective use of specialist software packages Attendance at round-table meetings with staff, managers and HR Provision of specialist mediation e.g. in case of complaint or relationship breakdown Provision of training and updates as required to HR team Development of fact sheets and other resources for UWE use

3 Process HR Advisers to identify existing cases where may benefit from support, and suggest to individual New requests for HR advice relating to disability raised by individual or manager – individual to be asked if would like to engage with ADWUK Completion of short referral form: Brief summary of disability and support / advice required Contact details for individual, their manager and HR Declaration of consent for information to be shared with ADWUK Referral submitted to ADWUK team by HR Response to be received from ADWUK by individual and manager within 1 working day of referral being received Contact with ADWUK via telephone, , skype, face to face

4 Data Protection UWE data processing agreement to be signed by ADWUK
ADWUK staff have to sign confidentiality agreements Individual consent as part of referral All documentation sent between UWE and ADWUK to be password protected All documentation held by ADWUK to be destroyed or returned to UWE at end of pilot

5 Monitoring Monthly review meetings to take place between ADWUK and UWE, with interim telephone conversations as required Monthly report to be provided by ADWUK to HR detailing cases, including quantitative information on volume and type of support provided Summary report to be provided by ADWUK, to be shared through DWG ADWUK to undertake follow-up surveys with individuals and managers to feed into evaluation of service and provide information on impact / benefit of support
