Solve problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication or division in contexts of numbers, measures or pounds and pence
Identify reflective symmetry in patterns and 2-D shapes and draw lines of symmetry in shapes

Literacy
We will act as reporters as we collect evidence and news from the Great Fire of London live in 1666! Using our evidence we will write newspaper reports, learning how to write in paragraphs.
Focusing on opening sentences in different ways, we will learn about life in We will contrast between short and long sentences.
When researching about The Plague, we will use bullet points to collect facts.
Finally, we will spend two weeks focusing on exciting verbs and adverbs when we study Samuel Pepys’ diary and create our own diary entries.
Our role play area will help us with all of our literacy work as we act out different parts of the historical story.

Art/DT
We will mix primary colours when using watercolours to create sky background for silhouette houses.
We will then create the same picture using oil pastels and compare the techniques.
The children will work together to create the city of London in We will make 3D houses using our measuring and cutting skills. They will look at the style of Tudor houses and design accordingly.
Music
We will continue to learn to play the ukulele and begin looking at musical notation as well as understanding the notes that make up the G and F chords.
PSHE
This term, we will focus on looking forward. We will think about the different jobs people have, about money, spending and saving.
Science
This term we will study and compare human and animal life cycles. We will improve our questioning skills and collect and record data.
ICT
In ICT this term, we will practise our typing skills when we create newspaper reports . We will learn how to underline titles, make text bold and insert pictures. PE
This term, we are lucky enough to have an athletics specialist help us improve our running, catching, throwing and jumping.
Topic (history skills)
We will learn about timelines and place events on a timeline in order. We will be able to relate events to those today and explain how they are different.
We will use evidence, such as Samuel Pepys diary, pictures and old maps to further our understanding.
