2. IT IS THE MEASURE OF SUCCESS IN CHURCHES.
Attendance tells us how many people are attending and giving tells us how much people are giving, but Discipleship tells us how many people are growing.

3. IT IS THE MEASURE OF SUCCESS IN CHURCHES.
1 Thes. 3:1 Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone; 2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

4. IT IS THE MEASURE OF SUCCESS IN CHURCHES.
1 Thes. 1:8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

5. IT IS THE MEASURE OF SUCCESS IN CHURCHES.
Acts 14:21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

6. IT IS THE MEASURE OF SUCCESS IN CHURCHES.
One of the evidences of being established in the faith, is being able to defend the faith.

7. IT IS THE MEASURE OF SUCCESS IN EVANGELISM OF THE LOST.
Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. 

8. IT IS THE MEASURE OF SUCCESS IN EVANGELISM OF THE LOST.
Two immediate and urgent discussions after salvation:
Biblical Baptism.
Biblical Discipleship.

9. IT IS THE MEASURE OF SUCCESS IN THE INDIVIDUAL BELIEVER’S LIFE.
2 Tim. 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 

10. IT IS THE MEASURE OF SUCCESS IN THE INDIVIDUAL BELIEVER’S LIFE.
Who’s growing as a result of my growth? 
Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

12. THERE ARE FIVE PRIMARY GOALS IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY.
Evangelism.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Establishment of local churches.
Preparing disciples.
Conforming our lives to be like Jesus Christ.
1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
5. Bringing Glory to God.

13. THE BIBLICAL PATTERN.
Discipleship forms the link between the first two (quantitative) goals and the last two (qualitative) goals. Goals which cannot be measured.
Discipleship provides people with all the tools necessary to carry out their ministry and bring glory to God.
Mat 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

These Five Goals Can Be Illustrated By The Example Of Raising Children.

15. THE HINDRANCES TO THE MINISTRY OF DISCIPLESHIP AND HOW TO GUARD AGAINST THEM AND OVERCOME THEM.
Divisions between the discipler and disciple.
Intellectual studies and debates.
The Charismatic Movement.
Legalism.
Ceremony.
