Matter is anything that takes up space and has mass.

A physical property is a characteristic that can be measured or observed. For example, color, odor and taste are examples of physical properties.

Hardness- a measure of the resistance of a solid to being scratched or dented (harder materials will scratch softer ones)
Malleability- ability of a material to be hammered or bent into other shapes. Ex- gold, tin, silver.

Ductility- ability of a material to be pulled into wires. Ex- copper
Melting & Boiling Points- the temperatures at which substances change state.

Density is a physical property of matter. Each substance has its own characteristic density.
Density is the mass per unit volume of a substance.
Mass is measured on a balance scale and volume is measured with a ruler/meter stick or a graduated cylinder.
