1 Lincoln Elementary Birding Trip
Bird watching is a very educational and popular activity. There are over 1,000 species of wild birds in the state of Wisconsin. Birds are put into different groups such as shore birds, land birds, water birds and night-time birds. Mrs. Rowe’s 5th Grade Class Friday, April 12, 2011 Most birds like a variety of food such as: Sunflower seeds Safflower seeds Suet Nuts And for a treat, put out: Sugar water, jelly, bread products, and plenty of fresh water! Parents, please return this portion to Mrs. Rowe no later than Monday, April 5th letting us know whether your child will be participating or not. Thank you! Bubolz Nature Center Bubolz Field Trip Schedule: 4815 N. Lynndale Drive Appleton, WI 54913 10:00: Arrive at center 10:15-10:30: Meeting as a class in main lobby 10:30-11:00: Guided tour around nature center: Focusing on bird habitats 11:00-11:20: Lunch by pond 11:20-11:30: Bathroom breaks and clean up 11:30-12:30: Split up into groups to search for birds. (Use the binoculars and bird checklist if you see any birds) 12:30-12:45: Head back to the main lobby and report our findings 12:45-12:55: Bathroom breaks and get ready for departure 1:00: Get on bus and leave for school ___ My child will be attending Bubolz Nature Center is home to many wildlife creatures and their surrounding habitats. There are many hiking trails and areas to take in the beautiful scenery. This is a favorite nature center to local bird-watchers. There are many different educational attractions that focus on young children. ___My child will not be attending There is a $3.00 fee for the field trip. Please have your child pack a lunch to eat at the center. ___ I would like to chaperone Thank you to all the chaperones!
