1 Who we are… Our Missions… Federal Mission:
The Air National Guard is a reserve component of the Air Force. The Air Guard is responsible for the security of the United States airspace. Our Missions… Support our State and Local Communities through State Emergency Duties (floods, tornados, earthquakes) Federal Mission: Support the Active Duty Air Force through deployments and temporary duty assignments.

2 Educational Benefits Tuition Assistance (TA)
Available immediately after your Date of Enlistment (HS grads) Currently pays up to 100% to Missouri Accredited Colleges and Universities State Funded and is based on Mizzou’s credit hour rate - $276.20 Will pay up to your 1st Bachelor’s Degree – max of 39 credit hours per year (Up to $10, per year) Paid directly to the College or University. Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve Available after completion of Initial Active Duty for Training (IADT) Will pay for 36 months total ($13,284) Full time students (12 credit hours or more) will receive up to $369 per month. Directly deposited into your account TAX FREE GI Bill Kicker If you are eligible for the GI Bill Kicker (specific AFSC’s) you’ll receive an additional $350 per month for 36 months ($12,600)

3 Community College of the Air Force
The Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) is a federally-chartered degree-granting institution that serves the United States Air Force's enlisted total force. The CCAF is the world's largest community college system You will earn an associate in applied science degrees from 68 degree programs Enrollment is automatic CCAF accepts official transcripts from civilian institutions CCAF credits may be accepted by your civilian institution

4 The process… Military Entrance Processing Station
At MEPS, you will take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) and a physical to verify that you are qualified for enlistment into the Air National Guard. The Air National Guard does NOT enlist at MEPS. The Air Force Liaison at MEPS will give you paperwork to return to your recruiter to continue processing towards enlistment. Please visit and take the three practice ASVAB tests. Selecting your Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) I will review your ASVAB and physical scores and will give you a list of jobs that you are qualified for at the 139th AW. You will select two or three jobs and we will set up a time for you and your family to come out and visit the jobs.

5 The process cont.…. Date of Enlistment
You will enlist the same day that you and your family visit the different jobs at Rosecrans ANGB in St. Joseph, MO. On your first Regularly Scheduled Drill (RSD) we will have a ceremonial enlistment for all of your friends and family to attend. The Military Service Obligation (MSO) with the Air National Guard is a total of 8 years which starts on the day of enlistment. The first 6 years will include IADT, Regularly Scheduled Drills (RSD), and Annual Training (AT)

6 Student Flight After enlisting, you will begin to attend RSD’s until you depart for BMT. During your RSD’s, you will in-process with the 139th, initiate your Security Clearance, obtain your Military ID, and pick BMT dates.

7 Initial Active Duty for Training…
Basic Military Training (BMT) Located at Joint Base San Antonio BMT is currently 8.5 weeks long Week 7 is Graduation week Week 8 is Airman’s week Find more information and a week to week Technical Training Typically will be immediately following BMT Length can vary from 6 – 52 weeks depending on your Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) Locations will vary depending on AFSC You will earn college credits related to your AFSC. Credits earned will vary depending on AFSC. Mission Essential Skills Training Days (MEST) Takes place at Rosecrans ANGB, in St. Joseph Length depends on your AFSC

TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS) / The plan provides comprehensive health care coverage when you're not activated or ordered to active duty service for more than 30 days in a row and covered by active duty TRICARE benefits You can see any provider, you don't have to change providers if you already have one A premium-based plan Member Only: $47.82 per month Member + Family: $ per month Annual Outpatient Deductible Sponsor Rank E4 and below: $50 per individual, but no more than $100 per family Sponsor Rank E5 and above: $150 per individual, but no more than $300 per family Catastrophic Cap $1,000 per family (per fiscal year) TRICARE Dental / Sponsor-only Premium: $11.68 per month Sponsor and Family Premium: $99.27 per month
