EX: meat, sugar, coffee, gas

To meet military supply needs, factories converted to wartime use
Lasted until the war ended
EX: Ford company built Army jeeps/vehicles

13. Role of Women in Wartime Industries
Soldiers needed tanks, guns, ships, planes, & bullets, etc.
More than 6 million women worked in wartime factories to produce military supplies
But, only paid around 60% of what the men made
