Oh Yea Let's Raise It! In this lesson, students will be choosing a side to debate. Slide 1: Starting the PowerPoint "Raise The Minimum Wage?"

3 Do you think this is a good idea? Why?
Slide 3: Ask students the questions on the PowerPoint “Do You think this is a good idea? Why?" Ask Students how many of them feel it a good idea to raise the minimum wage. Give students a short time to discuss why it's a good idea. Don't give them reasons; let them give their own reasons. Divided the white board into do sides. Select two students to write down the Pro's and one to write down the Con's. Do you think this is a good idea? Why?

Then have the students who are against raising the minimum wage stand, have them go to the left side of the room. Then ask the rest of the students to stand and place them on a side to argue. By the end you will want to have your class divided evenly. Then divided each side into groups of three or four. Which side are you going to support? Should we raise the minimum wage? Should we not raise the minimum wage? or
