Objectives of the project: Strengthen Collective Bargaining Coordination Strengthen Trade Union Power 5 workshops + conference 1st Workshop: Nordic/UK/IRL/ Baltic States (May 2017) Wage Coordination Rule remains the reference Still demands on training and against precarious employment (1st and 2nd common demands) Priorities: real wage increase, training, dealing with older workers through reduction of WT……. remains an important tool 5 workshops: Nordic/British Islands/Baltic Central region and Benelux Eastern Europe South West and South South East Next workshop for Eastern Europe in

6th and 7th December 2018 in Bratislava Topics identified so far: Wage coordination rule: relaunch and possible adaptation? Working time: towards common European standards? Social Protection for workers focusing on pensions, unemployment and precarious work Basic income

4 Pay Rise Campaign: IndustriAll resolution
Wage increase is high on the trade union agenda Pay rise campaign ties in with Congress decision « equal pay for equal work and solidarity throughtout the EU » Priorities for wage convergence: Strengthening and/or rebuilt Collective Bargaining structure and extension of the Collective Bargaining coverage Combined with minimum wage which garantee a decent living where needed Still a long way to go but need to continue pushing Resolution to highlight that the issue of pay rise is high on the trade union agenda and that it also ties in with our motion on “equal pay for equal work”

6 Pay Rise Campaign and wage convergence: Next steps/Actions
Workplaces week (November 2017 or January 2018) Signal to workers in line with national affiliates priorities but at the same time Upward wage convergence: Continue political work (collective bargaining, minimum wage, EPSR, European Semester…) Develop and monitor sector indicators to monitor convergence Start a catch-up process – take it into account in the wage coordination rule ? Resolution to highlight that the issue of pay rise is high on the trade union agenda and that it also ties in with our motion on “equal pay for equal work”

7 Other social policy issues
Posting of workers: Have secured our demands in the ETUC priorities (remuneration defined by MS, all costs of posting covered by the company, equal treatment for Temporary Agency, cover subcontractors…) Good report from the EP but proposals of Maltese Presidency is limited – Need to continue to lobby Step in the right direction BUT proposal is not addressing all the aspects of social dumping: social security, taxation… EPSR Cannot be rejected but cannot be accepted as such Dealing with the legislative proposals as a matter of priority Refugees and migrants Organise a seminar to exchange good practices and experience
