Founded by a group of Lebanese-American friends committed to giving back to their country of origin, SEAL strives to alleviate social and economic shortfalls in today’s Lebanon by helping vulnerable people in the poorest communities earn an honest living.
Our mission is simple: we aim to combine philanthropy with economic development to help under-privileged yet capable individuals in Lebanon become financially self- sufficient.

WATER:
WELL IN MEMNEH, NORTH LEBANON
SEAL financed the pumping of the water, along with the installation of 1,000 meters of water pipes which now bring water to an area in desperate need of irrigation.
This projects resulted in a 250,000m² increase in arable land and benefited 133 farmers who can now plant a variety of fruit trees.

9. CORN HARVESTER IN DRAYB, NORTH LEBANON
AGRIBUSINESS:
CORN HARVESTER IN DRAYB, NORTH LEBANON
SEAL purchased a second-hand corn harvester that reaps and shreds corn to facilitate fermentation.
Green corn is viewed as ideal cow feed because of its ability to increase milk production, keep cows healthy and improve milk quality.
Green corn be planted off-season, making more efficient use of the land and resulting in extra income for farmers.
As a result of this project, 150 farmers now spend just $5/ton on the transportation cost of the fermented corn as compared with the previous $20/ton from Bekaa.

SEAL has funded the operating expenses of an IT center for two years.
The IT center’s main objectives:
To become a centralized access point to the diaspora in order to support the emerging local IT economy
To champion policy/ regulatory changes and infrastructure upgrades in order to help make the environment more hospitable to IT start-ups
To identify IT sub-sectors where Lebanon can become a meaningful regional or global player

11. EQUIPMENT FOR WOMEN’S COOPERATIVE IN
HULA, SOUTH LEBANON
SEAL funded equipment necessary for the production of traditionally-prepared local products such as tomato paste, zaatar, sumak, kishk and dried mint.
Supplies included a tomato juicer, three herb mills, two refrigerators, two stove tops, two kitchen sinks, tables, chairs, kitchen utensils, packaging material, a generator, two water tanks and more.
Profits from the prepared goods are distributed among the 50 members of the association, all women.
