4 Governor’s Priorities
The hopes of Governor Hickenlooper and Lieutenant Governor Lynne have been hampered by the federal government’s moves to repeal and replace. However, they are moving forward with measures to increase transparency and accountability around the rising cost of health care. The Lieutenant Governor Lynne is championing a number of bills aimed at: Requiring reporting of: quality metrics, pharmaceutical costs, and hospital financials Increasing transparency around free-standing emergency clinics and regulating the billing for Services Making health insurance more affordable in certain geographic rating areas Using the State employee plan contract as a lever to influence price, coverage and pooling Addressing opioid abuse Improving the process for managing mental health patients and access to services NEWS Health Care in the House? Governor John Hickenooper nominates Donna Lynne, former executive vice president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, as Lieutenant Governor and Chief Operating Officer.

HB17 – 1094 TELEHEALTH COVERAGE UNDER HEALTH BENEFIT PLANS. HB CONCERNING CERTAIN HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONS REGULATED BY THE DORA, AND REQUIRING CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD CHECKS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH PRESCRIPTIVE AUTHORITY AND ENACTING THE ENHANCED NURSE LICENSURE COMPACT. HB CONCERNING THE RESOLUTION OF DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS BY AGENCIES WITHIN THE DORA.

RULES REGARDING THE DELEGATION AND SUPERVISION OF MEDICAL SERVICES TO UNLICENSED HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS PURSUANT TO SECTION DELEGATION OF MEDICAL ASSISTANTS CLARITY - LANGUAGE SUGGESTED TO THE BOARD THAT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED: “Physician assistants or anesthesiologist assistants may delegate medical services to unlicensed healthcare providers who are acting under the direct supervision of the licensed physician assistant or anesthesiologist assistant, where appropriate, within the scope of the physician assistant's or anesthesiologist assistant's delegated medical services."
