12. HIGH SCHOOL SOPHOMORES SHOULD...
Stay involved in your community, your church, and your school.
Prepare to apply for Senior Walk! You need 30 hours of community service per year in high school, plus a 3.25, and zero discipline.
Use the library, career center & internet to research college and university entrance requirements.
Maintain a minimum 3.0 (B) grade point average, especially in your college prep courses (English, math, science, social sciences and foreign languages).
Attend seminars, workshops, camps and summer programs that supplement your academic preparation.
With your parents, continue to plan the financial aspect of your education.

13. EVIT – East Valley Institute of Technology
Public school offering tuition-free career and technical education.
Students in 11th and 12th grade may attend. Must have at least 10 credits.
High school students attend their home school half-day and EVIT half-day. Morning and afternoon sessions available, but afternoon is recommended.
Free busing provided by home school to and from home school.
All Sophomores will attend the EVIT Presentation on Wednesday, Nov. 30th, during ac lab in Auditorium.

15. ACE Achieving a College Education
ACE students are high school juniors and seniors taking college courses while still attending regular high school
ACE students take classes on the South Mountain Community College campus or through Rio Salado Online
Classes meet during the regular summer sessions and every Saturday during the fall and spring semesters
Upon graduation an ACE student may have earned up to 24 transferable college credits
TUITION IS FREE!!! ACE presentation during Ac. Lab on Nov 17th. Sign up if interested!!

16. AIMS Science/AzMERIT
ALL Sophomores will take the AIMS Science test in the Spring. Please take it seriously and do your best!
AzMERIT is an end of course exam to test how well you have mastered the standards taught to you this school year. It is very important that you do well on these exams.
