Questions 9/5 What is the difference between a theory and a law?
While biking in to school this morning, Mr. Ogden climbed Irondequoit Bay which is 715 m in length. If he ascended this distance in 3 minutes and 20 seconds, what was his average rate of change of position (speed)?
2
Percent Error What is it? Why is it important?
(difference in values/actual value)x100% Why is it important? When converting units, why should we be concerned with number of decimal places? How many decimal places should there be in our answers?
3
Density What is it? D=m/v (from the ESRT) Interpret that! What does it mean? If you can’t measure densities of some materials, how can you compare them? What affects density? How does the temperature of matter impact its density?
4
9/9 What is density? Describe the pattern of distribution of sunlight on Earth right now. (die.net)
5
Cyclic vs Non-cyclic changes
Is it repeated in a predictable manner? Is it entirely random? Examples? Sunspots?
6
Review of Density Lab Review of Sunspot Lab
What are the important lessons learned from the lab? D=m/v Density does not change with size of object Density is affected by temperature (usually solid > liquid > gas) Review of Sunspot Lab Why the changes? Cyclic changes, exponential changes, random changes
