School classes be based on a period of time or individual work? Abolishing standardized testing (SAT, ACT, Civics Test, AzMERIT) Propose a change to the current school schedule (eg. Earlier/later start time, fewer/more hours, four day weeks, year-round school, etc.)

1-2 typed pages (ONE FULL PAGE, but absolutely no more than TWO) 12 point font, Times New Roman You must include at least one example of Restatement, Repetition, Analogy, or Parallel Structure You must include facts, statistics, and/or expert opinion(You will need at least sources which you must share with me) Choose an organizational structure to connect ideas: Chronological order, compare-contrast, cause-effect, or problem-solution. I will provide you with some sentence starters you can use with these organizational structures. I would like you to make use of them in your speech.

6 Topic/Objective (Periods 3, 4, and 6 ) Monday, November 7, 2016:
Analyze the rhetorical strategies used in four speeches and the persuasive intent of each speech. Evaluate the effectiveness of the structure an autho r uses  in his or her exposition or argument, including  whether the structure makes points clear, convincing,  and engaging. 

7 Get together with everyone who analyzed the same speech… (Periods 3,4,6)
SPEECHES: TASKS: Kennedy’s “Ich bin ein Berliner” Speech Reagan’s “Tear Down this Wall” Speech Robert Kennedy’s “On the Death of MLK” Speech eath.html George W. Bush’s “After September 11th” Speech 11addresstothenation.htm Read the speech carefully. Stop at the end of each paragraph and jot down a one-sentence summary. Highlight any vocabulary you do not understand. Take note of the elements on the SOAPStone graphic organizer. Be sure to add the rhetorical devices used and the evidence used. (see your notes for examples)
