2 What does the foundation do?
Scholarships Community Partnerships Bequests Fundraising Emergency Funds Reunions Alumni Outreach Special Events Foundation Board Meetings Lunches Book Funds Advocate for students and College Payroll Deduction Donations Grants The Foundation is a non-for-profit corporation organized exclusively for educational purposes to assist in developing the College’s facilities and carrying out the educational functions of Illinois Community College District 518. Ask-what does the audience think the Foundation does?

3 Annual Employee Campaign – Coming December 2016!!
If every permanent part-time and full-time employee gave: $1/Paycheck = $4,128 instead of Target Dollar Spot Nonsense $3/Paycheck = $12,384 instead of Trash Magazines $5/Paycheck = $20,640 instead of Starbucks Coffee $10/Paycheck = $41,280 instead of Lunch Downstairs Annual Campaign – what does it support? Why should you give to it? Are you giving to the College or are you giving back to the students and community who provide you a job? What could you give up to make a bigger difference?

4 Endowments $42/pay period or $1000 a year $10,000 minimum
Tax Deductible Program support, professorship, scholarships, etc. What is an endowment? How does it work? What do they support/fund? Are they more affordable than you thought? Legacy.

5 How much did the foundation support the college in $ last year
Program Support: $155,479 Mini-grants: $15,360.00 Internal Scholarships: $126,923 Outside Scholarships: $43,946.00 Crisis Grants/Emergency Funds: $1,400.00 Total: Over $350,000! WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT THE COLLEGE…WHICH MEANS YOU!!!

7 How many dollars are awarded in mini-grants each year
$15,000-18,000 Mini-grant applications open in the spring Awards are for the following fiscal year This year’s funding: partial implementation of Financial Aid Loan Repayment Outreach Program, 30 graphing calculators and traveling cases, television for HR orientations, Down Draft Dusting Station and Optical Comparator (Crime Lab), and the Telepresence Robot.

8 How can you help with alumni efforts
What is our definition of an alumni? Any person who has taken at least one credit course towards a degree. How Can YOU Help With Alumni Efforts? Pass out Alumni Lapel Pins… Do you all know what an alumni is? How many credits do you have to take to be considered an alum? How many people in our community are alumni? Your dental hygienist, your nurse, your insurance agent, the lady at the supermarket, loan officer at the bank…ALMOST EVERYONE
