The following documents will be required from all new hires: TB Skin Test (current) Official Transcript/High School Diploma/GED Original Service Record (if previous experience with another district) Identification Information as required by the Department of Homeland Security – Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9 form)

Teachers employed under an Alternative program must bring: Letter from ACP Program Statement of Eligibility for Internship Elementary Teachers that are being hired from another district must provide a copy of: Oral and Written Fluency Verification Letter required by Title III Part A

4 Human Resources Once you visit with Human Resources, you will leave with the following information: Letter of Reasonable Assurance or Contract Job Description Salary Employee ID # & district address Start Date

Upon arrival at the Employee Benefits Department: Employees receive a Welcome Letter and Informational Packet Mandatory Meeting with agent is scheduled If unable to keep appointment, please contact us at (956) to reschedule All employees have the option to select from the various plans offered All employees must complete the enrollment process within 30 days of employment Information regarding all current benefits is available on the district website: Search by Department

Upon completion of the enrollment process, employees would have made selections on the following products: Medical (automatically enrolled in Prescription Plan also) Dental Voluntary- Cancer Voluntary- Critical Illness Voluntary- Heart & Stroke Voluntary- Vision Voluntary- Disability Voluntary- Term Life Voluntary- Permanent Life Voluntary- S.H.O.P. Please note that the district also provides a basic life insurance plan at zero cost to employee

8 Staff Development When you visit the Staff Development Department you will leave with: ERO (Electronic Registrar On-line) Account Overview of how to use ERO TEP (Time Equivalency Program) information

9 Welcome to Payroll Department
The following will take place when you come to our department: You will fill out a 403b Salary Reduction Agreement (SRA) form for either to participate or not participate. La Joya ISD uses the KRONOS Timekeeping System. We will assist you in creating your user ID in KRONOS. We will take you through the process of setting up your access on the Employee Service Portal where you will have access to your payroll information such as paycheck stub, W-2’s, leave available and other important District information.

Requirements for setting up the portal: You will need employee ID. ID will be provided to you during your visit to the Human Resource Department. You will need to bring your bank information, routing and account number. You will be needing exemption status to fill out W-4 form.

11 Payroll Department After visiting the Payroll Department, you will have established access to the following: Employee Service Portal KRONOS Timekeeping System Have filled out and completed the Salary Reduction Agreement (SRA) form. The SRA form can be updated at any time during your employment.
