2 Customer Target Audience: Product Selected: Boys and Girls, ages 7-11
Specifically, Will’s 8 year-old sister Product Selected: A zombie apocalypse themed house with a spotlight, ball launcher, and electric fan With the increasing popularity of zombie-themed movies, shows, and video games, this toy grasps the interest of many children. The variety of components makes this toy fun and interactive for boys and girls. The versatility of this product allows kids to use their imagination

3 Conceptual Design Initial Design: House – 12”x 6”x 14”
Constructed of plywood Flashlight – 1”x 4”x 2” Wired to solar panel Ball launcher – 6”x 3”x 3” Spring-action ping pong ball launcher Electric Fan DC motor wired to solar panel

4 Conceptual Design (cont.)
Advantages of our design: Plywood is an affordable material for building. The three components (light, launcher, and fan) are simple, yet engaging. The size of the house is not too large, so our toy is not cumbersome or in the way. Change to initial design: Instead of a solar panel, AA batteries were used for affordability and simplicity. The fan was mounted to the side of the house for stability.

7 Customer Feedback Will called his sister on Facetime and asked her some questions about the product: Will: So remember how we built a toy directed towards getting zombies, here’s what it looks like now. What do you think? Sister: Oh yeah. I think it looks cool because you made it. Will: No I mean what do you like or dislike about the toy. Sister: It needs more purple. Ummmmm, I can shoot the ball at Emily (other sister) instead of Zombies! Will: If we built it again what would you add? Sister: More people with it. Will: How many stars out of ten would you give it? Sister: 7 stars! Take away: It could be more replicated in other colors for more selling towards larger varieties of customers Should come with targets to shoot at. Overall a child would enjoy it for the toy aspect more than the house aspect in its current state.

8 Product Cost Prototyping Cost: Total Time for Design and Assembly:
$33.75 Total Time for Design and Assembly: 18 hours Material Cost of 1000 Units: $18,680 ($18.68 each) Cut costs by purchasing wood, paint, batteries, PVC pipe, and ping pong balls in bulk Retail Price: $30.00 per unit

9 Summary/Conclusions Our Zombie Defense House is very marketable and appeals to a modern audience. This toy is fun and interactive for boys and girls, presenting a wide customer base. Our toy has the ability to expand into different markets/themes of child preference such as a castle that defends against dragons.
