Check out these sentences:
Bolivia was hungry. Rory was ravenous, too.
Look at the underlined words. Do you think they are synonyms or antonyms? What were the clues?

5. Knowing many synonyms and antonyms can help you improve your writing by helping you use new words instead of using tired, worn-out words.
We are going to begin a class thesaurus that we can add to as the year goes along.
I’m going to give each group a tired, worn-out word and I want you to find new words in a thesaurus to begin our
class thesaurus.

8. Fluency Turn to page 36 in your reader.
Follow along while I read the first 4 paragraphs on page 36. Listen closely as I pay attention to punctuation and read smoothly. Move your fingers under the words to pay attention to the correct pronunciation of every word.
