How to find the missing angle of a triangle.
Week 7 blog post

Sin, Cos, or Tan? To find the missing angle of a triangle, first you need to find out what ratio you should use (Sin, cos, or Tan) Sin = missing Adjacent side, Cos= missing opposite side, Tan= missing Hypotenuse 10 cm 10 cm 6 cm 6 cm X X X 8 cm 8 cm

Plug in the numbers Whether you are using the Sin, Cos or Tan ratio it’s always the same process. Put the X next to the ratio you are using on the left side of the equation, and plug in the lengths of the sides the triangle gives you, depending on the Ratio you are using. Ex; Sin X= 6/10 10 cm 6 cm X

Isolate the variable To isolate the variable multiply both sides by the negative form of the ratio you are using. Ex; X= -Sin 6/10

Use your calculator Enter this equation into your calculator and it will give you the missing angle. Ex; X= 36.9
