Some are said to view the world as either half full or half empty.

Leeches: “The leech has two daughters, crying, ‘Give, Give.’” Proverbs 30:15
3

Human Desire “Just as Death and Destruction are never satisfied, so human desire is never satisfied.” Prov. 27:20

Things that are Never Satisfied
Ungrateful Children & Grown-Ups “Some people curse their father and do not thank their mother. Prov. 30:11 “…for men shall be lovers of themselves, lovers of money… disobedient to parents, unthankful, unkind,…” 2 Tim 3:1, 2 Things that are Never Satisfied
6
The Ungrateful Heart is Always Empty (no matter what it has).
All the pleasures of the world will not satisfy it. Even the kind gifts of God will not satisfy it. “…they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the desert? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!" Num. 21:5 The Ungrateful Heart is Always Empty (no matter what it has).
7
The Ungrateful Heart is Always Empty (no matter what it has)
Jesus Himself Cannot Satisfy It “From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” John 6:68
8
The Grateful Heart is Always Full (no matter what it doesn’t have)
It thanks God for everything & for nothing “…in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus…” 1 Thess. 5:18
9
The Grateful Heart is Always Full (no matter what it doesn’t have)
It thanks God for even nothing “And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:21
10
The Grateful Heart is Always Full (no matter what it doesn’t have)
It is Satisfied with Jesus Alone “He gave plenty to drink to those who were thirsty. He filled those who were hungry with good food.” Psa. 107:9 The Grateful Heart is Always Full (no matter what it doesn’t have)
11
The Grateful Heart is Always Full (no matter what it doesn’t have)
The company of Jesus is what makes Heaven Heaven. Not streets of gold… Not angels… Not mansions… I want to see Jesus!
12
The Grateful Heart is Always Full (no matter what it doesn’t have)
It fills by emptying! “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service, even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor.” 1 Tim. 1:12, 13
13
How Do We Get a Grateful Heart?
God gives us a grateful heart when we realize how much Jesus has done for us. The more we understand the cost of His gift, the more grateful we are for everything. Only Jesus can truly satisfy your soul!
14
You Should respond to the Gospel if :
If you never have before You have been walking afar off and you want to come back You want to set an example and show others how it is done You would like to give your Life to Jesus again
16
“But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12
18
What did you learn today?
How does this lesson apply to our lives today? What do you want to say about Jesus today?
19
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you…
…Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you who are half-hearted towards God.” James 4:8 WNT
