2. Sapporo Yuki-matsuri’ さっぽろ雪まつり
Sapporo Yuki matsuri’ is a Japanese snow festival that is held annually for over seven days in winter of Japan February. すすきの (Susukino), つどーむ (Tsudome) and (大通公園) Odori park are the three main sites in the Sapporo snow festival.
People from all over the world over millions of the calculated population gather to see ice sculptures and entertainments presenting snow to admire.
How did this suddenly start? Well In 1950, local middle and high school students exhibited six snow sculptures (雪像 Setsuzō) at Odori Park and that is how the Sapporo festival started.

The Aoi matsuri is a annual festival held in Kyoto, Japan it is one of Kyoto's three most famous festivals and is held in May 15th. This is a festival two kamo shrines (加茂神社 Kamo jinja) in the north of the city Shimogamo Shrine and Kamigamo Shrine.
The main features is that people that are dressed up in aristocratic style of the Heian period stroll from the Imperial palace to the kamo shrines.
The main point of this procession is the number of women accompanying the proxy of the princess serving the deities.

4. Kanda Matsuri 神田祭’
Kanda Matsuri is one of the top 3 Shinto festivals (神道祭) within Tokyo which opens on Saturday and Sunday most closest to May 15th during the odd numbered years.
Kanda matsuri had started in the early 17th century due to Tokugawa’s victory in the battle Sekigahara (関ヶ原の戦い). A large amount of people in results of over 10 hours of parade, such as floats and musicians and over 300 people marching through central Tokyo districts the Kanda, Nihombashi, Otemachi, Marunouchi, and more places.

5. Sanja Matsuri (三社祭"Three Shrine Festival")
Sanja matsuri, is one of the great three Shinto festivals located in Tokyo.
Similar to the multifarious festivals in Japan this festival is a religious celebration. This lasts for a weekend long dedicated to the kami (spirits カミ)of three men.
Opening the small doors located on each mikoshi (the interior is obscured to the public by a small cotton curtain) they say that the three spirits are invited into the miniature shrines where they will reside during the whole festival.
The fun fact of this festival is that Yakuza members also proudly show off their tattoos during the festival.
