3 Merry Christmas! Dear Second Grade Teachers,
I know this time of year can try your patience. Don’t get your tinsel in a tangle! Hang in there (like mistletoe)! This is a set of lessons designed especially for you. Many of your ELA TEKS for the 3rd and 4th 6 weeks are included here! What if you found one of Santa’s reindeer on the playground at school? Write about what you would do. Day 1–

17 Make your own elf adventure.
Design and draw your own elf and give it a name. Make up 3 sentences on your own using a prepositional phrase in each. Underline your prepositions. Remember to capitalize the beginnings of your sentences and all proper nouns. * Bonus: Write an adventure story about your elf. Be sure it has a beginning, middle, and an end. End of Day 2

What does it -look like? -sound like? -smell like? -taste like? -feel like? Describing words are called adjectives.

Example Transition Words: First, soon, immediately, while, during, second, then, at, when, last, now, until, already, after, next, finally Day 4

Santa Claus is your substitute teacher for a day. Write down 5 questions that you would ask him if you spent the day with him. Remember that interrogative sentences end with question marks. ? Day 7 – Naughty or Nice?

Pronouns. A pronoun replaces a noun. Examples: Sam built a snowman. He built a snowman. Mary wants a doll for Christmas. I hope she gets it. We know that she in the second sentence refers to Mary and it replaces the word doll. Day 9
