Prepare a word document which summarises your event idea. You must include:- Event name and theme An introductory overview of the event Who the event will appeal to and why Benefits of running this event The risks of running this event An overview of the resources required: physical, financial, human, technological & time Barriers to success of the event Why you believe the event would work You must use at least 4 different sources to support the points you make and fully reference work. Also record next to each piece of research the date you accessed this information Challenge - You can outline more than one event if you cannot decide!

11 Guidance Research events that have been run in other schools, sixth forms or colleges What worked? What didn’t? Use this to formulate your own ideas. Make sure you collate some referenced research This research may help you come up with an original idea You will submit this document, but may also be asked to present it in you first Planning an Event lesson

12 Final Tips Ensure you purchase your stationery before arriving in September File notes after EVERY lesson All marked work must be kept in your folders Read ahead – we will tell you what chapter to read in advance You need to purchase the Business textbook Thank you for listening, have a great summer
