2 Why did I choose this topic?
*Five to Eleven years of age I chose this topic mainly because this was the field I was considering entering for a career. I have always loved working with children and teaching someone something new in general. Seeing them learn and grow is a wonderful experience.

3 Requirements College career path-
Public: Bachelors Degree & State issued license Private: Bachelors Degree Forty-five hours of coursework in educational studies. Clinicals Student Teaching

4 Roles of a Teacher Develop lesson plans that are age appropriate, first assessing the class’s strengths and weaknesses. All work must be graded and recorded for each student. Monitor progress. Work and communicate with other administrators as well as parents. Classroom rules and responsibilities Teach all major subjects Positive, creative, and patient.

6 My research Paper “ADHD’s Link to Elementary Education”
ADHD- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder First mentioning in 1902, but not recognized until 1968. Symptoms- limited attention & hyperactivity No cure, but treatments can help Children diagnosed with ADHD actually pay attention very well, they just have trouble focusing in on the right things. Strategies depend on the individual but can include for example putting a band around the bottom of their desk to fidget with, but still pay attention to the lesson.

12 How does this Job connect to other work in the field?
Due to the fact that crossovers in students occurs, the special education department often works closely with the elementary school teachers (regular classrooms).

13 Self-Assessment I feel as if I presented myself well during this project. Over all the students listened well and treated me as if I were their actual teacher. The one downfall I had would have to be organization of my lesson plans . *(Pre & Post Test)

14 Importance Elementary School Teachers are vitally important in a child’s life. They set their educational foundation and prepare them for the future. This career benefits both the students and teachers. Students have the opportunity to prepare for successful lives. Teachers have the opportunity to learn from their students as well as expand their intellectual capibilities.

15 Will I be become an elementary Teacher?
Wonderful and important career, but not my calling. Much more respect and understanding of job position. Will attend Marshall University in the fall- Medical Imaging
