This is best accomplished through uniformity.

4. District Marshal Appointed by the Master and serves at this pleasure.

Appointed by the Master and serves at this pleasure.
Master may appoint more than one Marshal.
If there are multiple Marshals, one should be designated “Lead, Head, or Senior” Marshal so he with the Master shall direct the activities of the others.

Marshal’s cape & chapeau are purchased by the district & are to be returned at the end of his term.

6. District Marshal Primary Duties

Primary Duties
Assist the Master
Command the District Color Corps
Assist & instruct the assembly Color Corps Commanders

7. Senior District Marshal

Preside over the Color Corps at District level Functions
Suggest members of the District for consideration as District Marshals to be appointed by the Master for the District
Supervise and train as needed the Degree and District Marshals.
Attend all District meetings and Exemplifications of the Fourth Degree as well as the annual Fr. Hennepin Provincial Meeting
Insure Degree Candidates are properly vested and controlled during the day of the District Exemplifications of the Fourth Degree.

8. Senior District Marshal

Senior District Marshal
Insure the appointment of inner and outer sentinels as required from the District Color Corps during the day of the District Exemplifications of the Fourth Degree.
Insure the District-wide Color Corps is uniform in Dress and Protocol so as to be in accord with the Supreme Drill Manual and any variations authorized by the District Master.
Establish, Supervise and conduct training for the Assembly Commanders (Annually and ongoing as needed).
Assist in the annual Installation of Assembly Officers as required.

9. Senior District Marshal

Senior District Marshal
Provide escort for the Master as required-(may assign District Marshals).
Provide article for the District Newsletter as required by the Master.
Serve as Chairman of the District Credentials Committee.
Supervise all “Marshal Raffles” and the District’s involvement in the Raffle at the annual Fr. Hennepin Provincial Meeting.
Provide assistance to the Fr. Hennepin Provincial Marshal as requested.

Degree Marshal
(Typically this will be a dual responsibility as he will also serve as a District Marshal)
Follow the directions of the Senior Marshal and Master for the District.
Follow the directions of the Degree Team Captain during Practices and Exemplifications of the Fourth Degree (When a conflict between these items arises consult with the Master).
Commit to memory all the spoken words and actions of the Marshal in the Degree Chamber

Degree Marshal
(Typically this will be a dual responsibility as he will also serve as a District Marshal) 
Attend all scheduled practices of the Degree Team and all District Exemplifications.
With the advice of the Senior Marshal ensure all doors of the Degree Chamber are properly secured with duly appointed members of the Color Corps.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Senior Marshal and/or Master.

Follow the directions of the Senior Marshal and Master of the District.
Ensure the training of the Assembly Commanders of assigned Assemblies.
Attend all District Meetings and District Exemplifications of the Fourth Degree.
Assist in the annual Installation of Assembly Officers as required.

Attend annual Fr. Hennepin Provincial Meeting as requested by the Master.
Assist the Senior Marshal to insure Fourth Degree candidates are properly vested and controlled during the day of the Exemplifications of the Fourth Degree.
Establish a uniform Diocesan-wide Color Corps compliant with the directions of the Senior Marshal and the Master for the District.

At District Exemplifications and at the annual Fr. Hennepin Provincial Meeting sell raffle tickets as required by the Senior Marshal.
Travel to provide an escort for the Master at the request of the Senior Marshal and/or Master.
Serve as a member of the District Credentials Committee.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Senior Marshal and/or Master.

Maintain control over the ante chamber.
Insure candidates are properly vested with 4th degree pin and social baldric in the ante chamber.
Escort candidates as required (e.g. to class photo, chamber).
Dignitary Marshal
Maintain control over the dignitary room.
Escort dignitaries as required (e.g. to class photo, chamber, Mass and banquet [lined up properly], etc.).

“One and only one Commander shall be appointed” per Article XII, Section 41, paragraph c of Laws and Rules Governing the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus.
