Has Globalisation come at a price? L/O: To understand the moral/social and environmental consequences of globalisation. To appreciate some of the strategies that can be used to manage these consequences.

Increasing Urbanisation Movement Connections All of these have impacts on the human and physical environment! But not for all! Globalisation has come at a price: Economic globalisation =more choice …but also more homogeneity-MacDonalisation?! Demographic globalisation = more diversity, mixing… but also more tensions Consumerism has increased…but also ecological footprints and fears on environmental change and resource shortage

What are the moral and social consequences of globalisation 2-speed countries, eg China or India? Unfair trade? Unfair wages? Poor working environments? Extension: Tourist enclaves and leakage of profits? What are the environmental consequences of Globalisation- Ecological footprints? The price of progress? Business as usual? Resource depletion, environmental degradation, desertification, deforestation, pollution? Have actual mini egs of all
