Being the victim of online bullying (cyberbullying)
Sending or receiving sexually explicit films, images or messages of themselves or others (sexting)
Sharing personal and identifying information with strangers
Being contacted and manipulated by an adult for sexual purposes (also known as grooming)

2. E-Safety
What are the risks: Reputation damage: When you connect via a wide range of technologies and social media sites, sexting content can be distributed to other users very quickly. This prevents you from controlling where the content is posted. This can result in damage to your reputation in your school or local community, and in online communities. As content posted online can potentially exist forever in the public domain, the chances of a future employer seeing the content is increased, which can have longer term damage on your reputation and aspirations.

What are the risks: Emotional and psychological damage: The distribution of sexting content to others can cause distress and upset to the person involved, especially if the content is distributed by someone they trusted it with. The effects of others seeing this content can lead to negative comments and bullying, and may result in long term damage to confidence or self esteem, and in extreme cases can lead to depression and other risks.

5. E-Safety What can you do as parents:
Closely monitor your child's use of the Internet and social media – remember the sign up age for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat is 13
Check their phone
Use parental controls where appropriate
Talk to your child about their use of the Internet and social media, sit with them and ask them to show you what sites they enjoy visiting
Keep informed, there are lots of useful websites that can help educate you and your child
