INTRODUCTION The Reason few Congregations are into Missions Many congregations are totally ignorant of the great need for Missions and Evangelism. Many congregations like ours are small and struggle financially. Many congregations lack spiritual maturity and Biblical knowledge

5 A MISSIONS MINDED CONGREGATION
Two Biblical Examples: Philippians 4:10-20 v10 Shows a renewed interest in missions by the Philippian Church v11-13 Shows Paul has needs but can live by faith in God’s provision v14 Shows caring is sharing v15-16 Shows the Philippian Church were the first Missions Supporting Church

6 A MISSIONS MINDED CONGREGATION
Philippians 4:10-20 v17 Shows support is investment in Heaven’s Bank v18 Shows three interests from the Bank of Heaven to God: a fragrant offering An acceptable sacrifice Pleasing to God v19 Shows that when congregations support missions, God provides for all their needs

12 LOCAL CHURCHES FULFILL THE ROLE OF:
Mobilizers Develop teams and structures that allow Goers to go. Welcomers Provide an infrastructure to help the Goer.

Sender Care Providing a practical infrastructure Specialist Care From pastoral to spiritual to emotional to physical to training to family care to financial, etc.

Treasurer to drive the Finances Mobilise giving Forward finances to the missionary or Mission Agency Keep financial records Keep the congregation updated

Ethics Counselor Deal with any spiritual or moral struggles the missionary might encounter Needs discretion and integrity
