18 Comparative study reflected by Vidya Roy Choudhury, JNV, Howrah
We were sent by our school to Nayachack Jadunath High School, on 2nd May 2017, for the twinning up of schools program. In this program we had to learn about a new system of schooling and hostelling. We found both the systems were very different. In this school both hostel boaders and day scholars study. But in our school, only hostel system exist. Our teachers are able to check every student’s academic progress regularly, because it is possible, as our strength is less. Nut checking the academic progress of every students regularly in the strength of 1000s is not possible. Our teachers teach us with the help of oral teaching, ICT classes, lab activities etc. But the teachers there taught us with the help of oral teaching but then also there teaching is very good. We have a well- defined routine starting form morning P.T., breakfast, start of school with morning assembly, lunch, remedial, evening games, evening snacks and assembly, evening study and dinner. This makes us disciplined. The teachers, Principal live with us and monitor us all our daily activities. They are available for 21X7. But here teachers are available only from 10:00 a.m to 04:00 p.m. as per the school timing. In our school both academic and CCA activities, matter, but awesome, there only academic development matters. Ours school holds meetings about student’s problem in the different fields- Academic, Mess, House, etc. but as were saw there was no communication between the principal and students.

42 Conclusion “People can do whatever they want if they just set their heart to it and just never give up, and just go out there and do it.” - Bethany Hamilton … And we did it. On the first day when the programme which given to us by Sarva Shiksha Mission, Howrah, we felt it would be difficult as the functioning of the two schools were absolutely different. But finally when we were into the programme it was a happy and enjoyable learning experience with a touch of cultural union. We thank the district authorities for giving us this wonderful opportunity of sharing experience. Thank you.
