All civilizations face common challenges Our project requires each student to examine and explain how Rome and Loudoun County dealt with the same issue… Projects will be researched and completed INDIVIDUALLY. Projects include a research and writing component with a works cited page, a visual component, and a presentation.

There are 14 topics to be researched. Students will draw numbers to see who gets to choose first. No more than 2 students may research the same topic in each class – but remember, you are working on your own ;-) THE TOPICS 1. Roads & Highways 8. Education/Schools 2. Medical Care 9. So where do you find information on your topic?
Resources So where do you find information on your topic? Your World I textbook Stone Bridge Library website: especially the “online database resources” page YouTube: The History Channel's “Engineering an Empire: Rome” Google topics and look for websites for encyclopedias, universities, and government agencies (.org, .edu, .gov) for example Other “reputable” websites (PBS, History Channel, Local News, etc.) Check the slides below for websites specific to your topic. These are suggestions, and a good place to start. YOU MAY NOT USE WIKIPEDIA FOR THIS PROJECT!
