2 Project Scope Learn the importance of the reactor design of chemical processes Perform a reactor conceptual design for a given reaction system Sizing and modeling the reactor Using process simulation tools (e.g. HYSYS, Aspen plus) Using CFD-based tools (e.g. COMSOL) Using other tools for calculation and optimization (e.g. MATLAB, EXCEL) Write a design report as the deliverables Need 3-4 students

5 Why the Project is Important?
The reactor design is the most important part in the process design. However, the senior process design courses could not cover enough knowledge and practice. This senior project would be a unique opportunity to have a comprehensive study on the reactor design.
