1 Snowflakes

2 Snowflakes are tiny drops of frozen water vapor.
There are seven basic forms of snowflakes, which are determined by how much water is in the air and how cold it is.

3 Snowflakes The 5 basic forms of snowflakes are plate, column, needle, dendrite and irregular. Most often, when we see snowflakes in art, they are Dendritic.

6 Types of Snowflakes Dendrite This is the most often seen snowflake
It is very tree-like because a spatial dendrite snowflake looks like a star with branches.

10 Frost in a Can Materials: Can Water Ice Salt Thermometer

11 What happened? Draw a picture of what happened.
What is the temp of the water in the can? What is the temp when we add salt and ice?

12 Snowflakes Based on the temp that our water and ice got to, what snow flake would form at that temp?
