8. Reading passages
Biofuels are fuels produced from organic matter. Some sugar plants are grown to make alcohol as a fuel for cars other biofuels are obtained from animal waste. This is broken down by bacteria to form an energy rich gas which can be burned in furnaces or in engines. A number of companies use this gas to produce electricity for the national grid.
