4 Exercises - dictionaries
Look up the word «multiculturalism» in the different online dictionaries and see if there is a difference in the definitions given. Check also in Ordnett+ (You do not have to write the full adress, just search for «online dictionaries». If you do not get links to all of them, add the search words needed, like Collins, Merriam-Webster, Cambridge, Oxford) Check these three words, and see if you find any information in the different dictionaries about the formality level of the words: Junkie Trash damn May Horverak 2014

5 Exercises - synonyms Look up these words in Ordnett+ and in the thesauruses. What information do you get in the thesauruses that you do not get in Ordnett+? Despair Complain Pursue Cynical Are there any antonyms that may be useful here to include in your text? May Horverak 2014

6 exercises Look up some words from Obama’s speech that you do not know the meaning of in Ordnett+. Check if there are words in your text that you have used many times, and check in Ordnett+ and thesauruses if there are some synonyms you might use instead. May Horverak 2014
