Welcome to the third GBM of the Fall Semester

3 Membership Requirements
To be considered a full member of TPPTA, the following must be met: 3 General Body Meetings Attend 1 Volunteer/ Community Service event Dues: $10 for one semester OR $15 for the full year We are happy to accommodate schedule conflicts with the requirements!

4 Collecting funds We will be using transactions in the Venmo app to collect dues, t-shirt funds, etc. @SethKaufmann in the app to send your funds to TPPTA When using Venmo, please remember to: Include your name What you are paying for Paying in cash is still an option!

5 Boo at the zoo When? Saturday, October 22, 9:00 A.M-1:30 P.M.
Where? The Philadelphia Zoo What? Volunteer to help out with Halloween-themed activities and candy distribution at this kids' event at the Philadelphia Zoo  * Only 11 spots available; spots are filled*

6 Walk to End Alzheimer's When? Saturday, November 29th at 8:30am Where? Citizens Bank Park What? Volunteer as a Greeter Guide at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Volunteers will be needed to escort participants around the park and help with registration.

7 Give kids sight day When? Saturday, October 29th, 2016
Where? Jefferson Medical College, Alumni Hall 10th & Locust Philadelphia, PA 19107 What? Hundreds of children will receive free eye screenings, exams, and glasses during Give Kids Sight Day. Volunteers are needed to make this event a big success! Volunteers are needed to help with: Refraction vision screening Registration patient escorting language interpreters entertainment.  Sign up through the google form:

8 Spooktacular 5k/1 mile walk
When? Saturday October 8:30 am Where? Temple Main campus, 12th street and Polett Walk What? Students from Temple University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program have organized its inaugural Halloween 5K run/1 mile walk to benefit the North Broad Physical Therapy Center. They are looking for runners/walkers as well as volunteers for this event (volunteer registration is closed) Runners/ Walkers please sign up through this link provided here Runners: $20 Walkers:$10

9 76ers Attend a basketball game with a bonus!
Have a question and answer session a few hours before the game with a Sports Physical Therapist! Hear professionals talk about the field in sports medicine Listen to players talk of their physical therapy experiences Cost will be between $15 to $25 Includes a gift from the team and a ticket to the game! Date that accumulated the most interest is November 16th against the Wizards

11 Fundraising with Yankee Candle
Ask your relatives and friends to support TPPTA by buying items from Yankee Candle Can either buy from brochures handed out at GBM or online Starts next Thursday, October the 27th When buying online, our group number is Make sure to put in that number as to have some of the profit benefit TPPTA

12 Hootathon Join our team!
Please visit to register for this event Sign up to be a dancer or a virtual dancer if you cannot attend the event ($15 each) Fundraising goal of $100 per participant is mandated during sign up- this allows you access inside the event Our Team name to search is Temple Pre-Physical Therapy Association

13 Peer and 3+3 mentor program
Headed by Scott Weiss, information about this program will be sent out to those already signed up in the near future. Pairs underclassmen with an upperclassmen to aid in Professional topics (grad school requirements, shadowing, etc.) Academic topics (biology, kinesiology classes, study habits, etc.) Those upperclassmen who help may gain valuable leadership experience Interested?
