9 The fight to financial freedom not only requires that we follow
wise financial principles, but more importantly, that we learn contentment, self-control, and generosity.

10 11 …I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
12 …I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation…. 13 I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13 CONTENTMENT: strength in the face of external circumstances.

11 Contentment 11 …I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 …I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation. Philippians 4:11-12 We learn contentment by consistently declaring and believing that with Christ in us we have the strength to stand up against all circumstances and remain faithful to God. That consistent declaration will lead us toward inner peace, calmness, and confidence (freedom!).

12 Self-control Controlling our thoughts or actions; power over our desires; mastering, curbing, or restraining our impulses. Saying, “NO,” to bad things we want to do Saying, “YES,” to good things we don’t want to do

13 Paul spoke to Governor Felix about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come.
Acts 24:25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 (An overseer) must be…sensible, righteous, holy, self-controlled…. Titus 1:8 …supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance. 2 Peter 1:5-6

14 How do I get (more) self-control?

15 How do I get (more) self-control?
You have to want it bad enough. Moses chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the short-lived pleasure of sin. Hebrews 11:25

16 How do I get (more) self-control?
You have to want it bad enough. Dig deep and determine within yourself to be more self-controlled. Now determine in your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God. 1 Chronicles 22:19

17 How do I get (more) self-control?
You have to want it bad enough. Dig deep and determine within yourself to be more self-controlled. Ask someone to keep you on task toward self-control. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

18 How do I get (more) self-control?
You have to want it bad enough. Dig deep and determine within yourself to be more self-controlled. Ask someone to keep you on task toward self-control. Consistently ask the Holy Spirit to do a miracle in you and give you His self-control. You do not have because you do not ask. James 4:2 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23
