1 FHIRForms – Viewing and Editing FHIR Data
XML Solutions Ltd Open Mapping Software Ltd

2 FHIRForms – User Interfaces for FHIR
Create high-quality user interfaces for FHIR resources and bundles, without coding First-cut form designs created automatically from profiles Clinician-led design of user views (WSIWYG) Create views suitable for many user roles and tasks Good tool for clinical validation of profiles Form runner in generic FHIR client Edit, view, and print documents (e.g. CDA on FHIR)

3 Using FHIRForms for Resources
Define Basic Layout of Form Generate Initial Form Design from FHIR Profile Clinicians create views of the form Live use: Populate the form from a FHIR Resource Clinician or patient views/edits/prints the form Updated FHIR resource sent to server

4 Define Initial Layout of Form
Simple text layout files – for resources, or for complex types Partially define the ordering, grouping, and layout of the elements of a profiled resource in a form Input to the form generation process Decisions made here can be overridden in detailed design of view forms

5 Generate Initial Form Design from FHIR Profile
Automatic process Driven by profile structure and layout files Produces a working form that can display and edit the resource This is the starting point for the detailed design of forms for the resource

6 Example Form - AllergyIntolerance
Resource references Bound value sets Unrestricted SNOMED code (profiled CodeableConcept) Repeatable component Too busy for live clinical use But it can be easily edited down and refined (WYSIWYG) It can be used to create and review example resources

7 Clinicians Create Views of the Form
May need many views of the same resource, for different user roles and tasks Use Interactive WSIWYG Form Design Tool Include only those elements needed for the role and task Fields can be read-only, depending on role Alter labels, grouping, ordering, controls.. Rapid design feedback, by running the live form on example resources

8 Live Use of the Form Generic FHIR client displays resource forms
Populate the form from a FHIR Resource (uses auto-generated transform) User views, edits, and prints the form (pdf) Edited FHIR resource created from the form (by auto-generated transform) Updated resource can be sent back to server

9 Forms for Documents Same process as for a single resource, applied to a document bundle Generates a multi-page document viewer/editor Clinicians refine views of the document (WSIWYG) PDF output for printed documents Good tool to implement CDA on FHIR
